Jon Oliver
With a decade and a half of experience in the Texas Legislature and various state agencies, Jon Oliver has helped strategically guide and pass legislation on critical issues covering a myriad of policy matters, including energy, electricity, water, economic development, transportation, data centers, and municipal annexation and extra-territorial jurisdiction, among other state and local affairs. Jon Oliver has contributed policy and communications expertise to successful political and public policy campaigns and developed relationships with key policy makers in the Legislature over his career. He has served as a senior advisor, communications director, and chief-of-staff in the Texas Senate, as an advisor and chief-of-staff at the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and as the director of government affairs and external communications at the Office of Public Utility Counsel. He has advised an ERCOT Board Member and has in-depth experience working on issues directly related to the electric grid and ERCOT, including market design, resource adequacy, firm fuel, energy storage resources, large and flexible loads, and grid reliability, as well as development of major transmission infrastructure projects.
